There's a first time for everything!

And this time its poetry. I have just written my very first poem =) Ok, so I've written those ones in High School that are like 'A firework is loud and shiney and it makes me scared and whiney...' but this time its a REAL poem. No ones told me what it has to be about, or what features have to be in it. This one is 100% me. And that scares the crap out of me. It's gonna be read and critiqued on Thursday in my Creative Writng class by about 12 other people that are experienced poem and prose writers! *Hyperventilates* So I thought I'd post it on here first so my lovely readers (the like 3 that I have!) can give it a browse first and let me know what they HONESTLY think. Any criticism would be appreciated, be it good, bad, changes you think should be made, did you understand it? And so, without further ado, here it is:

Reading

You open the book,
the first few pages are bare,
you bear the frustration.
You flick by the blank canvases, faster
than your parents would have wanted you to.
Finally a word,
then a few, then a lot,
then a string of swear words that never seem to stop...
But in time they do, with a page cut neatly out,
moved away from the book,
and the book lays open, half unread,
the future yet to come.
